Custom web design templates can save you money - The time-consuming business of sourcing and editing/optimising stock imagery into a good-looking, workable, W3C standards-compliant HTML/CSS website layout can often be very time consuming. Using a custom-designed web template avoids this.

An important distinction to make is that good-looking web templates are available from many places on the web at a reasonable price... BUT they are NOT UNIQUE, and are resold to buyers often many thousands of times over to recoup the initial design time costs involved. If you are NOT concerned with having a unique web presence that is tailor-made to your own particular business or services, then this is probably the best option for you...
